- You can pick your favorite translation with a parallel commentary.
- You decide whether to view 1 verse, 4 verses, 10 verses or a chapter per day.

- After you have submitted your request for a new study, it should be ready for you starting the next day.
- If after several days of study you decide that you want to re-customize your study you have that option and the results should start the next day.
- Once you have read your set of scriptures for the day you can decide to:
1) Specify that you are ready for advancement to the next set of scriptures for tomorrow's viewing.
2) Specify that you want today's set of scriptures to remain when you view your web page tomorrow.
3) Specify that you want to go ahead and read the next set of scriptures RIGHT NOW!
4) Specify a whole new study to begin the next day. A new study would be choosing a study that YOU put together using the options/features described at the top of this screen.
Possible suggestions......
- If you want to see just one verse per day, then think about which book of the Bible you really want to study. (Rather than reading just one verse per day starting with Genesis and Matthew. It may take you years!)
- Ten verses or a chapter seem to work well, plus if you want to read more just press the button that allows you to read further.
- A good study tool is to pick 10 verses or 1 chapter of your favorite book of the Bible - then pick the translation you prefer and pick the commentary for a parallel study.
- If you find yourself being discouraged because your study placed you in the "begats" you can always re-customize your study - plus you can re-customize your study to sequentially review our set of over 100 "favorite passages / stories" from the Bible.

Purpose......
"During the Fall of 1997 I was driving to one of my client sights and as is fairly normal I was listening to a Christian radio station. It seems I do a lot of driving from client to client and often listen to different pastors and teachers on two of our local Christian radio stations. That day, the speaker was trying to impress upon the listening audience the importance of having a daily Bible reading - a daily quiet time devotional.
I do believe that to be true....that making time to sit down and read the Bible each day is probably one of the best things to do for your Christian walk and growth. But most of us don't seem to be able to make time every day.
It made me feel even more guilty when I thought about all the hours I spend checking for email and surfing the Internet. It occurred to me at that point that if I could set up a Bible study that I could read off of the Internet that I would be able to have a more consistent daily quiet time devotional.
My background is in programming, 20+ years worth, and I have been a Christian since my pre-teen years. It was a massive project but with a good front end design I have put together a Bible study project for the Internet that each person can customize what books of the Bible they want to start with, how many scriptures to read each time, and even which translations they prefer to see. This system is set up to be a daily study but it also works in that if you skip several days it doesn't loose your place. I even put in an automatic email reminder (kind of like a mother) that gently reminds you that you skipped X days - you specify how many days (1-7).
Because everyone sets up their own study and pace, you always log on each time you access this web site. By logging on, my program then finds and displays your scriptures in the translation(s) you picked. When you access the customBiblestudy.com web page for the first time it will ask you to enter your first and last name initials and the month and day of your birth date...this will be your permanent login name. For example Mary Smith who was born on March 7th would log in as MS0307....be sure to use 0s when your month or day of birthday is less than 10.
When you log in for the first time you will be shown a second screen where you customize your Bible study.
Please try out our Custom Bible Study. You can re-customize your study even up to once per day and the newly requested study will normally start the next day.
God bless and we hope that this Bible study will help you in your Christian walk and growth."
